On the morning of April 6, Professor David M. Paterson from University of St Andrews visited College of Harbor, Coastal and Offshore Engineering and gave a seminar titled “The biology of coastal erosion”. The seminar was hosted by Vice Dean Zheng Gong. Started with a piece of Stromatolite containing rich information of microorganism, Professor Paterson explained the influence of biology on sediment dynamics, and introduced the measurement technology and research methods in this interdisciplinary area.
